In the hustle and bustle of life, as we know it these days, it is a relief to find a place to rest your mind and refuel your soul. Sometimes we enjoy slow paced travel that allows us to immerse ourselves in a new place. This summer, for us, that place was the State of Tennessee, The Volunteer State.

New Bern, North Carolina is a beautiful, historic Craven County riverfront town.
Key West. For me, the name conjures visions of spectacular sunsets, crystal blue water, waking up to the sound of crowing roosters, and warm ocean breezes. It's a place we adore and find ourselves returning to over and over again. As the southernmost inhabited Florida key, Key West, also known as the Conch (pronounced KONK) Republic, is historic, quirky, distinct, rowdy, colorful, laid back and it has a distinct culture and rhythm all its own.
It's a long road trip for us to get to our annual family reunion in Mississippi so to break up this year's drive, we planned to stop and explore the beautiful state of Alabama. With three days, we explored as many of the highlights as we could.

A few nights ago, we entertained ourselves by looking through photos from past adventures. As Roger flipped through each picture, he started saying, "I can't believe we were there!" As he said it again and again, I started to wonder which "pinch me moment" places were my favorites. The list is long and picking favorites is as impossible as picking your favorite child! We have had some wonderful trips in fantastic places so it's been hard to pick just a few.
