Travel is a chance to learn and explore and my husband and I have been blessed to stand in the shadows of some of the most magnificent places. In those places, we have found ourselves jealous of the people who live there and wondering if they appreciate where they live. This made me realize that I have been so in love with travel and faraway places that I may not appreciate home like I should.
I live in a coastal tourist area and summer brings the vacationers who come for what I sometimes take for granted. As a native, it’s easy to overlook the beauty of where I live so I like to enjoy my hometown when the tourists are gone. One spot I am drawn to is the sunrise over King Neptune as he climbs out of the Atlantic Ocean to check out the Virginia Beach boardwalk. I can’t imagine living too far away from the beauty and the power of the ocean!
