“Here for the journey, not the destination.” -Unknown
As you travel, if you have spotty or, heaven forbid, no wifi or cell service, never fear! Finding options for entertainment for travel travel days can be a few clicks away. This simple travel tip is great way to keep the littles entertained or to break the monotony of a road trip for travelers of all ages.
Providers that allow downloading
Providers that allow downloading include You Tube, Netflix, HBO Max, Disney +, Hulu, AppleTV, Prime Videos, and Paramount +. If you have subscriptions, be sure to check your favorite provider for their rules and regulations and load up your device before leaving for your trip.

How to download
Downloading entertainment is fairly easy and straightforward. For the sake of today’s blog, I am happy to offer a brief tutorial for downloading your favorite entertainment from Netflix:
On your device of choice, open the Netflix app and go to the movie or show that you’d like to download for your trip.
If Netflix allows that specific item to be downloaded, click on the download button, which can often be found right next to the play button. The download should happen fairly quick.
Once downloaded, you can access what you want to watch by clicking “downloaded” and “play.”
When you are ready to watch, you need to use the same device that you used to download. In Netflix, you will see a down arrow in the upper right corner of your screen. Clicking there will show the list of downloaded programs.
Tips to remember
Downloads can be done on nearly every brand and type of handheld device or laptop but don’t forget that you will need to watch that entertainment on the device to which it was downloaded.
Be sure to download your favorite shows before you leave home from your video providers. These downloads will often have an expiration date so be sure to know the parameters set by each carrier, download as close to your departure time as possible, and watch accordingly.
This is a wonderful provider perk that gives travelers access to a little entertainment for long road trips, camping off the grid, or on other trips that might leave travelers in need of amusement.
Enjoy your trip!
